The patina's colors are natural, and no harsh chemicals are used.
A thin layer of lacquer covers the brass/copper sheet/charms to save the natural color of the patina.
You can add a layer of lacquer to protect the finish further.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
I use pure and raw metals: raw copper (100% copper) and brass (approx. 70% copper + 30% zinc).
All of the findings listed in my shop are lead and nickel free.
In its purest state, metal, when it comes in contact with air and the oils of your skin, does tarnish or darken. So aged or darkened metal is a natural process and it depends on each person as to how long it will take before your piece tarnishes.
All charms have been sealed with a protective coating to preserve the unique look of the patina. To protect the patina do not expose jewelry to water, chemicals, lotions, or soaps. The patina will change a little over time with wear.
