The colors of the patina are natural; all processes use no harsh chemicals.
The brass/copper blanks/charms are covered by a thin layer of lacquer to save the patina's natural color.
You can add additional layers of lacquer to protect the finish further.
The cut blanks are durable yet easy and can be cut with metal cutting scissors.
